About Us
We are a small village primary school located on the edge of Loddiswell in peaceful, rural surroundings.
Our current site was built and opened in 2018 and our facilities include: 4 fully equipped classrooms with interactive whiteboards and access to state of the art ICT equipment; a school library; a MUGA; a hall for P.E. assemblies and performances; on site kitchen where school dinners are cooked; a separate kitchen for children to use; a Key Stage One playground with bike tracks and a Key Stage Two playground.
We also have Key Stage One and Key Stage Two trim trails; a school field and access to a forest school area nearby.
Disabled access is not an issue as the whole school is on one level.
At Loddiswell Primary School, we provide a friendly and supportive learning environment that enables all of our children to become independent resourceful learners for life. We work hard to ensure that all of our children receive highly positive, memorable experiences and rich opportunities for high quality learning. All the staff and children are part of the “Loddiswell School Family” and together we value, inspire, achieve, and believe which empowers us all to be the best we can be.
Through our exciting curriculum, we aim to inspire our children to gain independent learning skills and to always be “kind, safe and responsible” in behaviour and learning.
We pride ourselves on the close and strong partnership we have with our local community. Parents, local residents and other community members are invited to come into school to share their skills, knowledge and talents with the children in order to enrich the curriculum and experiences provided.
Our staff have consistently high expectations of all children; who in turn benefit from the wide and varied expertise provided throughout the school and Federation. Staff work hard to develop imaginative teaching strategies and involve parents and members of the local community in the children’s learning. They strive to develop meaningful real life conrexrs for learning and the children benefit from being taught through a ‘Mastery’ approach.
In addition, we have a team of experienced Teaching Assistants. They support the teaching and learning throughout the school and deliver short-term intervention programs for individual children when needed.
We currently have four class groups:
Class 1 – Reception
Class 2 – Year 1 and Year 2
Class 3 – Year 3 and Year 4
Class 4 – Year 5 and Year 6
